PhD and scientific background in biophysics or in a similar field, strong publication list compared to years of experience, successful demonstration of scientific knowledge, and ability to work with diverse teammates. Strong programming ability and computational training are required.
Specifically, prior experience in molecular dynamics simulation of bio molecules, and statistical mechanics, machine learning, or both. Excellent communication skills in written and oral English are prerequisites. Applications will be assessed based on skills related to project requirements, previous productivity, strength of references, and interview performance.
Responsibilities/ Job Description
Responsibilities are full-time research and mentor-ship of junior researchers in the laboratory as agreed upon, with all research time on the research project and mentor-ship and other development responsibilities taking less than 20% time. Will also include international travel to collaborating scientific sites and meetings as needed. This position will involve molecular dynamics simulations of enveloped viral entry, statistical learning, and close involvement and comparison with experimental data acquired by our team.

The Kasson Group in Molecular Biophysics Program, the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology seeks a postdoctoral researcher studying influenza virus entry mechanisms.
