Potential candidates for the postdoctoral position are expected to have a relevant PhD degree and documented research experience within a related field as well as a strong academic record.
Experience in advanced nanofabrication, optical characterization of plasmonic nanostructures, quantum optics and optical measurements at cryogenic temperatures will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities/ Job Description
The postdoc is expected to carry out research within the project “Room Temperature Generation of Indistinguishable Photons” supported by VILLUM FONDEN (Villum Experiment Grant). The work involves experimental and theoretical investigations of interactions of individual quantum emitters with nano-cavities supported by metal nanostructures. The aim is to study fundamental physical phenomena in light-matter interactions at the single-photon level. In the project, individual quantum emitters, such as color centers in nanodiamonds, coupled to highly confined and enhanced electromagnetic fields associated with surface plasmon excitations will be studied at temperatures ranging from cryogenic (~2K) to room temperature. The research is conducted in close collaboration with a number of international research groups.
The postdoc is also expected to be actively involved in the supervision of MSc and PhD students affiliated with SDU Nano Optics as well as in writing grant applications supporting the research at SDU Nano Optics.
