    Qualifications

    You hold a degree as laboratory technician and have vast experience in histopathological and standard molecular biology techniques (PCR and WB). .

    Preference

    As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are friendly and helpful and able to contribute to a good work environment.

    We expect you to have a good command of oral and written English. Fluency in written and oral Spanish will be considered an advantage.

    Responsibilities

    As laboratory technician, your primary tasks are to contribute to the research project with tissue and blood analysis and experimental procedures in animal models. You contribute also to purchasing of materials and you will have a leading role in the daily management of the lab. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.
    Your main tasks will consist of:

    • Histology, including tissue embedding, sectioning and immunohistochemical/immunofluorescence staining
    • Plasma lipid analysis
    • PCR and Western blotting
    • Animal procedures
    • Daily lab management
    • Instruction of new lab members

    You will report to Professor Jacob Fog Bentzon.

    About Department of Clinical Medicine

    The position is part of a collaborative project funded by the European Research Council between the Atherosclerosis Research Unit at Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, and the Experimental Pathology of Atherosclerosis at CNIC.  We offer a vibrant international research environment where English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The infrastructure is well developed with modern laboratories, core and animal facilities. You will work full-time in the research group’s laboratory in Madrid.
